Hello everyone! Welcome to my March Wrap Up! It’s a bit late as I read a lot of books in the last 48 hours of March, so without further ado, here is what I read in March!
My March TBR was mega ambitious, seeing as it had 12.5 books on it, which is about as much as I read in January and February combined! Despite this, I feel like I was really quite successful! I read, DNF’d or unhauled all but one book, which I am currently reading. I also read 4 of the 6 books that I wanted to for the #FemmeFanTale readathon (the others were DNF’d later).
I DNF’d three books this month: The Midnight Lie by Marie Rutkoski, The Magic Toyshop by Angela Carter, and The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary. You can find my full review for The Midnight Liehere.
I also unhauled We Are Cuba, because I was only reading it to help me study for an exam that I no longer have to take because… coronavirus.
Hello everyone! Long time no speak! Life has been a bit hectic recently, with the whole COVID-19 situation (and the resultant uncertainty about my exams). That situation hasn’t been resolved yet, but the lovely Isabelle @NineTaleVixen tagged me to do this and it looked like a fun and easy way to ACTUALLY POST. Hehe. Anyway, here we go and I hope you enjoy!
My name is Keira, and the blog’s name is Headphones and Hyperboles! I wanted alliteration, and I wanted a nod to both literature and music, so thus the name was born!
This depends on my mood! I really love me a good fantasy novel, although I usually prefer the kind with a romantic component, and I’m not so much of a fan of classic fantasy. Recently, I’ve also been really enjoying magical realism/speculative fiction, and I’ve been loving Japanese literature as well!
Hello everyone and welcome to my very belated March TBR! (To be honest, I’ve made some progress through this already, but no matter.)
If you haven’t seen my previous post, I recently created a TBR game, and this is the first month that I’m going to be trying it out! I will also be participating in the #FemmeFanTale readathon as well!
Hello everyone! I’ve been really obsessed with TBR games recently, so I decided to make my own! Before I post my March TBR, I wanted to make this post as a bit of a reference! Feel free to make your own version of this if you would like!
This is a bit like a SUPER UPGRADED version of a TBR Jar with prompts in it. I used mini flashcards and highlighters to create a pretty big deck of cards with different categories on them.
Hello everyone! and welcome to song-book association! I might do a couple of these in the future, as I think it brings together the two main topics of my blog nicely! How this works is, essentially, I click shuffle on my playlist, and then I pick a book to fit the songs that come up! The playlist I used today was my “Repeat Rewind” playlist that Spotify curates for me.
You can definitely also take this as music and book recommendations, as both songs and books on here are all some of my favourites!
GOT7 Youngjae- Nobody Knows
After Dark by Haruki Murakami was the first full-length work I ever read by Haruki Murakami and it’s both weird and wonderful. All of the characters in this could relate to Youngjae’s lyrics about dealing with their problems alone, but I think Mari’s sister, Eri, in particular resonantes with this song and it’s feelings of sacrifice and loneliness and pain.
“She knows she will end up a mere conduit used for the passage of external things. Her flesh creeps with the overwhelming sense of isolation this gives her.”
