Relatable Songs About Not Having Your Life Sorted Yet

Some people know exactly what they want to do. They have passion, conviction and need to be encouraged to pursue their dreams. But some people have no idea what they want to do. It’s not because they are lazy or unmotivated. They’re not any less driven, intelligent, talented or worthy. They simply haven’t found what they want to do yet. I belong to the latter group.

Sure, I have vague ideas of the type of thing I would like to do and I definitely know what I don’t want to do, but equally I don’t have one specific dream I am working towards either. I love songs which address that kind of uncertainty which I feel is sometimes looked down upon, so I thought I would share a couple with you today!

BTS- Paradise

It’s alright to stop, you don’t need to run without knowing why. It’s alright to not have any dreams if you have moments where you can feel happiness.

Suga, one of the members of BTS, addressed the idea that it’s okay not to have a dream as long as you can find a way to live happily in his New Year welcoming speech and this song is an elaboration of that concept.

Panic! At The Disco- Roaring 20s

Oscars and Emmy’s and Grammy’s, everyone here is a trophy, and I’m sipping bourbon, the future’s uncertain.

This song talks about a stage which I haven’t reached yet, not being in my twenties, but talks about the feeling of seeing everyone around you achieving things in their careers whilst you still feel unsure about what you are doing with your life.

So that’s it! I wanted to keep this piece fairly short, so I thought I’d just recommend a couple other songs that discuss this sort of thing! Stray Kids’ My Pace is good if you like a more playful, fun song and So Far Away by Agust D ft. Suran is great if you like your songs a little bit more serious!
